By using this application, you affirm that you are either more than 18 years of age, or an emancipated minor, or possess legal parental or guardian consent, and are fully able and competent to form a binding contract and that you agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy. 8to18 and the School are the sole owner of the information collected on this app, and we will not sell, share, or rent this information. Your personal account is yours to update and keep current so that you receive relevant updates and information regarding your chosen activity groups.

Children’s Privacy

8to18 is committed to protecting the privacy needs of children, and we encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s online activities and interests. 8to18 does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register as a user.

What Information Do We Collect?

Our goal is to provide you with the information and products and services that are most relevant to you. To achieve this goal, we collect two types of information from you when you use the My8to18 app: personally identifiable information you voluntarily choose to disclose and “aggregate information” about your use of our app that is automatically collected when you use the app.

Personal Information You Choose to Provide

Personally identifiable information refers to information that tells us specifically who you are. We collect personal information from you when you voluntarily choose to provide it. In this connection, you may be asked to provide information such as your name, mailing and current email address, your gender, and any other personal or preference information that you provide to us. We may ask you to confirm your personal information when you contact our Customer Service department or the school or organization that manages the activities. This will allow us to protect your confidentiality by verifying your identity. Further, if you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We also collect personal information based on the type of activity you are performing on the app. If you become a registered member, when you log in and access your personal My8to18 account, we will ask you to provide your username and password so that we can verify your identity. Similarly, when you organize or share your User Information on the app with others, we may ask for additional information.

When and With Whom We Share Your Personal Information

Except as provided for in this policy or the Terms of Service, we do not sell or rent your personal information to any third parties for their own marketing purposes. We will share personal customer information only with our agents, representatives, service providers, and contractors for limited purposes, including without limitation providing our customers with services; offering certain products and services in connection with this application; communicating to customers; providing customer service; enhancing and improving customers’ app experience; enabling access to our partners’ web sites; providing a personalized experience and preventing fraud. 8to18 employees and those of its partner companies that provide services to 8to18 may see your User Information while it is uploaded, edited, shared or printed. In addition, 8to18 employees may view or review your User Information to evaluate, validate, or resolve issues with your account and deliver convenient services that enhance your overall experience. You should be aware that you post User Information through the app at your own risk. Although we allow you to set privacy options that limit third-party access to your 8to18 accounts, we cannot control the actions of others, including any Program Providers or Registrants with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. If you share any information with select users or on any public area on 8to18 (by commenting, posting in a forum, etc.), that information is not protected by this Privacy Policy and any such postings may be seen by third parties not related to or controlled by 8to18. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that User Information you post on the Site or through the app will not be viewed, circulated, or used by unauthorized persons. While we use commercially reasonable technology for the protection of your personal information, we are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the app. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of User Information may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other users (including Program Providers or Registrants with who you have communicated) have received or stored your User Information.

Aggregate Information

Aggregate information refers to information your computer or mobile device automatically provides to us and that is not tied back to you as a specific individual. Examples include referral data (the web sites you visited just before and just after our site), the pages viewed, time spent at our Site or on the app, and IP (Internet Protocol) addresses. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer or mobile device whenever you surf the Internet. When you request a page from our Site, our servers log your IP address to create aggregate reports on user demographics and traffic patterns for partners, and for purposes of system administration. We use this aggregated information to determine consumer trends and needs, which allows both 8to18 and our partners to operate more effectively.

Cookies

Our Site uses a feature of your browser to set a “cookie” on your computer. Cookies are small packets of information that a web site’s computer stores on your computer. 8to18’s Site can then read the cookies whenever you visit our site. We use cookies in a number of ways, such as to save your password so you don’t have to re-enter it each time you visit our site, to deliver content specific to your interests, to track the pages you’ve visited and to make sure you don’t see the same ads repeatedly. These cookies allow us to use the information we collect to customize your 8to18 experience so that your visit to our Site is as relevant and as valuable to you as possible. Most browser software can be set up to deal with cookies. You may modify your browser preference to provide you with choices relating to cookies. You have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, certain of the functions and conveniences of our Site may not work properly, and you may be unable to use those 8to18 services that require registration in order to participate, or you will have to re-register each time you visit our site. Most browsers offer instructions on how to reset the browser to reject cookies in the “Help” section of the toolbar. We do not link non-personal information from cookies to personally identifiable information without your permission.

Controlling the Use of Your Information

You may review, correct, update, change or delete personal information you have submitted at any time by accessing your account on the My 8to19 app. By default, all of your User Information, including photos, images, and text, are private and can only be seen by you. Unless you explicitly make the User Content available to third parties (within or outside 8to18), others will not be able to access your content. However, no system is 100% secure, and you should use caution whenever submitting important information over the Internet, whether to our app and websites or to any other. 8to18 assumes no liability for the interception, alteration, or misuse of the information you provide.
